Simply stated this initiative seeks to lift the occupancy limits so that one person can occupy one bedroom which can be as small as 70 square feet.
An initiative to add a section to the Boulder Home Rule Charter prohibiting the city from enacting limits on occupancy of dwellings that are less than one person for each bedroom, with these terms defined as stated in the 2015 edition of the International Residential Code.
The IRC (2015 edition) defines the minimum size of a bedroom as 70 square feet (as in 7 ft. X 10 ft.), with a minimum dimension in any direction of 7 feet.

Shall the Charter of the City of Boulder be amended by the addition of the following Article:

The words and terms used in this article shall have the
definitions given in the 2015 edition of the International Residential Code (IRC) of the International Code Council
subject to meeting the requirements therein, except as specifically amended in this article.
